The Sombrero is a hat tournament held in Fairbanks, Alaska the first weekend of June each summer. This summer, Sombrero will take place from June 3-4, 2017. Sombrero is a great opportunity to play ultimate with our brothers and sisters to the north and ring in a new summer of ultimate!
Sombrero is played 6 v. 6 (4 men, 2 women). The tourney sees a wide array of players, from those who have played in a plethora of ultimate tournaments to first time players. A modest entry fee (usually $40) covers two days of ultimate, two nights of camping, field food, beverage(s), dinner on Saturday night, and post-dinner festivities.
Getting There: Some Anchorage players elect to drive to Fairbanks, while others elect to fly. For those who wish to drive, carpools are typically coordinated using the the Anchorage Facebook page in late May/early June.
